With the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-5.2) negotiations for a global plastics treaty set to take place this August, the spotlight is once again on the need for urgent, coordinated action to tackle plastic pollution. In Asia, plastic pollution is particularly acute, driven by rapid urbanisation, rising consumption, and underdeveloped waste management systems.
