Goldman Sachs Alternatives takes control of Italian medtech platform Numantec

Goldman Sachs Alternatives has agreed to acquire a controlling stake in Italian medical technology manufacturer Numantec from private equity firm White Bridge Investment, marking another investment in the healthcare sector, according to a report by Reuters.

While financial terms of the transaction have not been disclosed, ten report cites an unnamed person familiar with the matter as saying that the deal values Numantec at approximately €700m.

Headquartered near Mantua in northern Italy, Numantec manufactures a range of medical devices and drug-delivery products. The company employs around 600 people and operates seven manufacturing facilities across Europe and the US.

White Bridge created the business through a buy-and-build strategy that began with its investment in Italian vascular access device specialist Delta Med in 2021. Since then, the firm has expanded the platform through a series of acquisitions, including its entry into the US market last year via the acquisition of Health Line International.

Following completion of the transaction, Numantec is expected to continue pursuing growth opportunities across Europe while further strengthening its position in the US, according to a source familiar with the plans.

The deal is expected to complete during the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions.

JPMorgan advised White Bridge on the sale, while Goldman Sachs International acted as adviser to Goldman Sachs Alternatives.
