Charterhouse completes acquisition of Animalcare Group
Charterhouse Capital Partners has completed the acquisition of Animalcare Group, following its delisting from the London Stock Exchange.
Headquartered in York, Animalcare Group is an animal healthcare company specialising in the development and commercialisation of products for companion animals, equine and production animals. The group holds around 150 animal health pharma brands, with core franchises in dental, equine and pain products with a presence throughout Europe and the APAC region.
The firm says that the animal healthcare sector is a resilient and fragmented market supported by attractive long-term structural tailwinds, including increasing pet ownership and owner awareness, broader treatment availability and greater veterinary education. Charterhouse argues that with its differentiated and niche product portfolio, expanding R&D pipeline and proven ability to execute strategic acquisitions, Animalcare is well positioned for continued growth.
Charterhouse added that the investment aligns with its strategy of partnering with high-quality healthcare businesses that have strong market positions and clear opportunities for value creation. The firm says it will partner with CEO Jennifer Winter and the existing management team to support Animalcare’s continued investment in innovation, operational excellence and strategic M&A. Together, they aim to accelerate international expansion, strengthen the company’s product pipeline and deliver sustainable long-term growth.
