New Climate Tech Investment Funds

These new funds are powering hydrogen, space tech, AI, semiconductors, and energy transition.

  • Climate Fund Managers announced the first close of its SA-H2 Fund at ZAR 3B (~$182M), targeting ZAR 12B (~$728M) to finance green hydrogen and energy transition projects across Southern Africa.
  • Aum Ventures announced the first close of its India Innovation Fund II at ₹750 crore (~$80M), targeting pre-seed and seed-stage deep tech startups across areas including space tech, semiconductors, AI, and defense technology.
  • All Aboard Coalition closed its debut climate tech fund at $133M, to back ready-to-scale climate tech companies and bridge the funding gap between early-stage venture capital and commercial-scale deployment.
  • Energy Capital Partners closed its ECP VI fund at $8.1B, to invest in energy transition infrastructure, including power generation, renewable energy, energy storage, and sustainable infrastructure.

 

Top Climate Tech Funding Rounds

The past two weeks saw major funding flow into battery tech, drones, water management, monitoring platforms and more.

 

🔋 Austin, US-based Base Power Company raised $1B in a Series D round led by Ribbit Capital, Addition, Valor Equity Partners, and JPMorganChase’s Strategic Investment Group, with participation from Altimeter, D1 Capital Partners L.P., Coatue Management, Layer Global, Energy Impact Partners, and others to scale its distributed home battery network.

🔋West Virginia, US-based Form Energy raised $750M in Series G funding, led by T. Rowe Price, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Janus Henderson, Franklin Templeton, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Energy Impact Partners, GE Vernova and others, to scale its iron-air battery manufacturing and commercial deployments.

🏍 Bengaluru, India-based River raised $120M in a Series C round co-led by Elev8 Venture Partners and Claypond Capital, with participation from Indian institutional investors and existing global backers, to expand manufacturing, launch new EVs, and accelerate profitability.

🛵Bengaluru, India-based Yulu raised $93M in Series C funding, comprising $63M in equity led by GEF Capital Partners and $30M in debt financing, to expand its electric two-wheeler fleet and support growing demand from India’s quick-commerce and logistics sector.

🚁 COVENTRY, UK-based ePropelled secured $60M in U.S. government funding through the Department of War’s Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment program to expand its U.S. manufacturing footprint and scale production of electric propulsion systems for drones and other uncrewed aerial vehicles.

🔋 Amsterdam, Netherlands-based Ore Energy raised $43M in a Series A round co-led by Plural and HV, with participation from Positron Ventures, to commercialize its iron-air battery technology for multi-day energy storage.

🛰  Palo Alto, US-based WindBorne Systems raised $37M in a Series B round co-led by Khosla Ventures and Galvanize, with participation from Translink Capital, Lux Capital, and previous investors, to scale its weather intelligence platform.

🌱 San Diego, US-based Plantible Foods secured $35M in debt and equity financing, including a USDA-backed loan from X-Caliber Rural Capital and equity from RA Capital and existing investors, to expand its Texas facility and scale production of Rubi Protein.

🔋 South Korea-based COSMOS LAB (코스모스랩) raised $16M in Series A funding from Smilegate Investment and other undisclosed institutional and strategic investors, to advance its non-flammable aqueous zinc-halogen batteries toward mass production and commercialization for ESS and AI data centers.

📡 Roseville, Australia-based Farmbot Monitoring Solutions raised $15M in Series B funding, led by Lewis & Clark Partners with participation from Fulcrum Global Capital, Builders VC, Cultiv8 Livestock Technology Fund, Macdoch Ventures, and others to expand its remote water and asset monitoring platform across the US and globally.
